Off topic but a friendly reminder of sorts amidst a tragedy. Springfield township mourns the loss tonight of a local youth - Anthony Weakland. Weakland was the victim of a hit-and-run tuesday night while walking with friends to his sisters house. Being a frequent driver where he was hit it is not the most friendly area with tight turns that are easy to speed through and cause an accident - I have seen happen personally. This is an important reminder to pedestrians to be careful in areas without a sidewalk and to drivers to pay better attention to the roadway. There was a vigil at the crash site this evening and there are grief counselors at the high school where Weakland was a student. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends.
